The pups arrive!

Started at 6pm finished at 7am and 11 pups in total!!! Lizzie is doing well and is a caring mum , but a pretty tired mum! If my eyesight is right i think there are 8 dogs and 3 bitches. All like a feed and vary between brindles, blacks. Funny thing is the two brindles came out first!
Up date: Lizzie had 12 pups but sadly we have lost a dog and a bitch. The dog being the last one out 24 hours after the first pup arrived.Think she smothered the bitch giving birth to the last pup.
Lizzie is fine today and looks really well and she is being a great mum! Pups are noisy and full of it!

Kennel news

Plenty to tell. Firstly it was great to see Smash Amego come back to form today by easily winning a C2 at Ascot Park Southland. Came out well and ran a respectable 22.73 showed his little sister who is the fastest out of the pair! He certainly likes the 390m at Southland!

Closer to home Lizzie is just 6 days away from giving birth and man she is a big girl! One good thing with the pregnancy is that her barking has certainly quietened down even at food time!

The pups put a Hare up on Saturday and all three hit the deer netting and the pups came away with the hare in both their mouths. They then galloped back to me to show me their prize and to have it wrestled off them. The pups and myself had a good feed and i recommend hare as a meat worth eating!!

Lizzie went for her scan today and has been confirmed in pup. Picked up at least 6 on the scan but good possibility of there being more!

Kennel news

The Two pups had their first look at the drag lure and took to it well. Both chased the lure for approximately 200 metres and seemed to be putting it in. They didn't kill the lure but at least picked up the dummy and ran back down the gallop with it in their mouths showing it off!! This was the first time they had seen the drag so hopefully they are going the right way. They will be given time to mature now and hopefully strengthen up.

Lizzie seems to be getting fat so it looks like she might be in pup if not she will be signing up for a Jenny Craig diet plan! She will have a scan at the end of this month to confirm yes or no!
