Lots of snippets of news from the Kennels. Have calculated the first litter from Lizzie (Collision Risk) have earned $86.682.50 in prize money. Obviously Tom (Yeboah) has earned $40.882.50 of this but the others have done us proud. Ted (Melman) won on Sunday and now has gone in to C5 class. Thats 2 in the litter that now have reached open class!
On Tuesday I took Sam (Feral Coaster) to Addington and was pleased to see him come home first at odds of $11? Shame I bottled it because I did fancy him to be in the mix. Was even better because Jacqui and the Nixon the grandson were there to cheer him on.
The pups are now 6 months old and I am pleased with them. They love their food and all of them have plenty of weight with Dexter weighing in at around 20-5 Kg and growing fast. I have sold 2 of the dogs but have 2 dogs and 2 bitches ourselves.
We have re homed Mo (Feral Helen) to a lovely couple who adore her already, she is really spoilt and happy as. Now looking to re home Minnie (Feral Hoki) who told me that she did not like being at the races in her last 2 starts!
Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Updates
The Pups are coming on nicely and as a bunch they are very lively with plenty of energy and voices!!! They are now 5 months. If you are interested in buying a pup from us please feel free to phone me.
On the racing front Sam (Feral Coaster) has now gone 5th 4th 3rd 2nd in his last 4 runs. His trap manners are his major problem every time being last away and having to come through the pack! Minnie (Feral Hoki) has been working well but I am having problems getting a start for her, hopefully next week we might get a start!
Great New in the fact that Mo (Feral Helen) has found a loving home and is living the life of luxury with a home with under floor heating. So pleased because she is a great character!

Puppy Love
We tried very hard to get some quality snaps of the puppies today but either they wanted to lick the camera or they wouldn't stay still. We got a few average shots of some pups though. We will try again!!!

Kennel News
The Pups are now 17 weeks old and have been micro chipped and earmarked without a lot of drama although Dove was not that keen. They have been put out in the large runs but we bring them in at night and put them back in the smaller pen until they get a little larger. They are growing fast and Dexter blows me away with the size of him!!
On the racing front Minnie (Feral Hoki) came 5th in her comeback race and whats more she came off sound. Sam (Feral Coaster) is coming back nicely and working well and I am hoping his foot stands up to the pressure of racing.
SUNDAY
Good day at the office for the Elite State X Collison Risk Litter. Yeboah (Tom) 1st Fastest time of the day. Saved by Love (Rex) 2nd and Lots of Beersies (Zac) and Melman (Ted) good 3rds. All in all they have just earned over $2300 for the owners!!

Puppies at 13 Weeks

Kennel News
Plenty has happened since the last post. The pups are now 12 weeks old and coming on well. They vary in size but Dexter one of the dogs is nearly twice the size of the others. His Wrists and Hocks and whole body look like he is at least 16 weeks old!!! They are a lively bunch and vocal when they want to be! They go for their inoculations on Friday and hopefully will be earmarked and chipped soon.
On the racing front Sam (Feral Coaster) ran at Addington last Tuesday and finished a close 4th. Not bad seeing he has been off since Jan. The bad news is that when I got him home I noticed that he has split a back webbing and will be off for a while.
The others here are now looking for homes and Mo (Feral Helen) is out in a foster home to see how she goes. If OK we will look for a caring home for her.
Racing wise Tom (Yeboah) won at Auckland on Sunday taking out a C5 sprint with both Nangar Star the NZ derby winner and Railway sprint winner and Subic Bay the Track record holder both in the race. So a few good scalps were had!!
Both Melman and Saved by Love and Lots of Beersies keep on winning the odd race and keeping their owners happy.
Will try to get some photos of the pups soon.
