Boxer arrived on Thursday.
Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. News
Been a while since I have up dated the blog. Since the last time Charlie (Smash Rumour) has ran two 2nds in C4 at Addington beaten in good times for C4.
The pups that are here are doing well and are starting to look like athletes. The ground at the moment is like concrete so I am reluctant to free gallop them too much. Hopefully the rain will return soon so that I can put them up the gallop with the drag lure.
Will post new photos next weekend.

Palmerston Greyhounds 20th Jan A first for Greyhound racing?
The race was abandoned after a significant earthquake occurred just as the race was started and as a result the lure travelled a long distance ahead of the field and the track was moving significantly while the race was on and both matters would have affected the dogs performance.

Kennel news
Good to see Charlie win at Ascot Park Southland on New years eve. Now moved up to C4 so going the right way.
Pup news
All the pups had their first look at the drag lure today. Roughly about 150 metres up the straight. Happy to say they all chased obviously some a little harder than others. But for the first time they have ever seen a drag lure I am really pleased with them. Even the ones I feel are a little immature still chased all the way and then ran off with Tigger the soft toy with the squeaker in it!
They will be now put away for a couple of months or so and might hopefully get chance of a hunt when the hay paddock is cut next week!
