Good old Charlie (Smash Rumour) wins his C4 by 5 Lengths in 17.26. Well done to Malcolm and Lisa and staff.

Sick Sam

Had to rush Sam to the Vets on Saturday morning. Has been sore for 3 days since coursing the Hare. Eating well but very sore on his back but no muscle loss. Friday he seemed to be very lethargic and back was dropping off him. Thought it was acidosis but didnt really add up. Any way the vet diagnosed a type of acidosis (called it something else)which drops the muscles away. Vet gave him a shot of a Steroid and pain killers and now Sam is kenneled up at home being a model patient and eating heaps. Plenty of fatty meat to help build his back up and plenty of rest. Will be not in work for at least three months but being 35KG so estimated 38KG before his illness there is no rush to get him to the track! Already today he is much more himself so lets hope he is going to be alright.

Pups get a Course!

Ted and Sam got a good course of a Hare this afternoon when they put one up in the paddock. The Hare gave them a lesson in cornering and ran to safety after a good minute. Both got their heads down and chased hard and knew they had been in a hunt!! Pictures to follow later.

Charlie (Smash Rumour) put up a good showing finishing 3rd to Dixie Lee in a Super Pets NZ Racing Series Sprint Heat.

News

Been a while since I have up dated the blog. Since the last time Charlie (Smash Rumour) has ran two 2nds in C4 at Addington beaten in good times for C4.
The pups that are here are doing well and are starting to look like athletes. The ground at the moment is like concrete so I am reluctant to free gallop them too much. Hopefully the rain will return soon so that I can put them up the gallop with the drag lure.
Will post new photos next weekend.
