Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Kennnel news and a Race !
Darth (Feral Kaiaka) finished 3rd in his second C2 race which was pleasing to see. Going wide on the bend costs him in all of his races but at least he generally gets a trouble free run!
Other Kennel news is that we have decided to retire both Daisy (Feral Whanau) and Dexter (Feral Steadfast) just on the fact that they were not quick enough win C1 so was a pointless exercise and their welfare is something we are high on. They will be going to Nightrave a great rehoming group who hopefully will find a loving home for these guys. If not they will stay here to be pampered!
Dove (Feral Dove Love) picked up a stomach virus and needed to go to the vets to be kept overnight on the drip. When the nursing staff went in the next morning she had ripped the drip out of her leg and shreaded her bedding ! She is now making a good recovery but has lost 2kg weight!
