Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Saturday at the Trial Track.
Took Ben to Carrs Road this morning. What a different a week makes. He was whining in the Van when we got close to the track and then pulled hard when he jumped out of the travel cage. Start to bark at the first trial he saw! Waited for 4 trials and then slipped him half way along the straight. Jumped well from me slipping him and chased hard all the way around. Decided to bite on the lure at the end and gave it a few good tugs and shakes. Great to see Ben getting his act together and showing some pace as well! Traps/Boxes next!
