Lizzie (Collison Risk) Surgical Insemination.

Took Lizzie to Shirley Vets this morning to be surgically inseminated to Elite State. Had the chance to watch the operation and it was quite something. After being prepared for surgery Lizzie was placed on the operating table and a incision was made and then the two ovaries placed out of the cut. Then two catheters placed into the ovaries ready for the semen to be injected into them.
The semen is thawed and i was shown the sperm swimming looking through the microscope. Sperm is them injected and then the wound is stitched up.
Felt a bit guilty putting the bitch through this to have a chance to get her in pup! Lizzie will have a scan in 28 days to see if it has been successful.
