Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Close encounter!!
Took Maggie to the beach this Saturday with our Labrador, they get on well. Gave her a 200 metre Gallop and then a deserved run around. Unkown to me a big fat seal was in the soft sand about 30 metres from the sea. Maggie spotted it when it made its escape, being a greyhound just our of being broken in it look like a big lure! Luckily for both Maggie and the seal no real blows were struck but Maggie tried. After it made it escape Maggie and the Lab were looking for it in the sea and on the beach...Must remember to check the beach next time i gallop her!
