Have retired Ben (Feral Poutini) he just seems to be struggling on the bends due to a long term toe injury.
Mo(Feral Helen) is back in the kennel but is on the easy list with a front sesamoid injury, treatment includes ultra sound for a few days at least. Just returned Minnie (Feral Hoki) from injury and now she has a back foot sesamoid injury that does not look good. She ran a great trial today but pulled up lame and the swelling did not take long to appear! She is very sorry for herself and not her lively self.
On the good news side Tom (Yeboah))has qualified for the Galaxy Semis on Thursday night after finishing 2nd in his heat to a very fast 16.96 winner!
Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Tough times
Had a few runners over the last two weeks and both Feral Hoki and Feral Poutini have finished at the rear. Ben (Feral Poutini) got dragged down from behind and had some cuts on his back tendon area plus to cap this he has strained his right gracillis muscle and will be on the easy list for a while. Minnie (Feral Hoki) didnt really show last week and I though it was just a bad run. Ran today and finished last and she is also lame in the gracillis muscle and the groin area and will be off for a while! Mo was running in to a place at Waikato on Thursday but was knocked out of it coming off the home bend. She was just coming home nicely when she took the knock from the 8 dog!
Well one thing is that it can only get better! Hopefully!!!!
