Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Good end to the year!
Great to see Zac ( Lots of Beersies) winning his C1 quite comfortably for the Shake and Bake syndicate. Hopefully they can now have Lots of Beersie on New Years eve! The big lad Pat (Wairo Dee Jay) was a fast finishing third over 390 metres at the same meeting.

Happy Christmas.
Bits of Kennel news.
Took Minnie (Feral Hoki) and Ben (Feral Poutini) for a qualifying trial yesterday. Minnie qualified finishing 2nd but Ben didn't finishing 4th. Ben ran disappointingly and I knew something was not right with him.Has a badly swollen back toe so he will be on the easy list for a while now. Minnie ran well and I was pleased with her effort.
Ted qualified up at Manakau in a very decent time which was good to see.
Tom is pleasing his owner and trialing well around Manakau.
Both Sam and Mo are doing OK here and I will be looking for a race for them in the near future.
Boxer the Yellow Mustard pup is soon to go to be educated and is looking well at the moment.
Hope you have a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Kennel News
Entered Sam for a Maiden race on Saturday but no C0. Entered Ben and Minnie for a qualifying trial but no Qualifying trial. Because of this took Ben, Minnie and Boxer to Carrs Road for a run. Both Ben and Minnie went OK and their times were very similar. Gave Boxer his first Slip behind the lure and he chased really well for his first look. All new to him so really pleased and he certainly seemed to enjoy the experience. Sam had a gallop yesterday after Mondays where a Hare decided to appear 100 metres up the gallop! Sam spotted it and almost caught it but it just saw Sam at the last moment and decided to run towards me down the gallop. Off Sam went in pursuit only for the hare to turn him at the last second. Sam went sliding on the grass for 20 metres!! Came off a little sore but after plenty of liniment and massage soon came good!
