Took a few dogs for a trip to Carrs Road. Some for the experience some to trial. Minnie was the first to trial being slipped just before the finishing line. First time she encounted the bend and went a little wide but then realized what she was doing and came home well, very happy for her second look. Mo and Sam had a bit of box/trap learning being placed through it twice and then let go with the box front open for a trial. Both went very nicely and both bit on at the finish. More than pleased with the effort and great to see them not panic in the box although Sam is a bit big for those boxes!!
Boxer was in the trailer looking on and letting us know he wanted a go!! Rex and Ben were also watching from the van.

Second Trip to the schooling/trial track!
Decided to take Big Sam and Mo to Carrs Road schooling track this morning. Great morning and track in great condition. After watching several trials it was time to give Mo a go. Sam was back in the van looking at the trial. Gave Mo a slip from the finish line just before the bend. Pulled on to the track and really got her head down all the way and was rapped with the way she was chasing. She actually went to the lure and gave it a couple of nudges so hopefully we are getting there. Sam was given the same treatment and slipped from the finishing line. Again off he went chasing well all the way until the drop off. He went to the lure and sniffed it and went to semi bite on a couple of occasions. So pleased with the progress and the schooling at home teasing seems to be paying off. Did not take Minnie this week because i am doing more work with her at home.

Saturday Morning at the Trial/Schooling track
Put Mo,Minnie and Sam in to the trailer for the first time and put Boxer in for the ride. Off to Carrs Road Christchurch to the Trial/Schooling track about 50 minutes away. Track was in great condition and the weather was good. Gave all the pups a look at the Lure and then gave Mo,Minnie and Sam a handslip. All three did not look to interested when the lure was going round walking them to the handslip position on the bend. Mo was first to go and she chased and in the last 75 metres she really got the idea. Minnie crabbed to start but stretched out nicely towards the end and Sam who was last took to it and was chasing quite well in the last 50 metres. Very pleased really but plenty more work needed but I think now they know what it is about the hopefully the next visit will see an improvement. In the mean time the drag lure will be used as well.
Update on the sick bay pups! Toms wound is looking really good and I am pleased with the way it has healed up. Rex still has a long way to go because some of the wound has not knitted and the hole will take longer to heal up but he has plenty of time so hopefully it will come good.

Totally pissed off !!
Had Rex and Ted to go to Bruce Danns this Saturday for schooling/Breaking in. Go out to the run yesterday at Lunch and there is Rex with a good gash on the front leg just above the elbow. Not a nice looking gash deep and about 8 cm across. Took to the vet immediately for stitches.Vet thinks its a bite and i expect Ben has done it through the fence.Vet knocks him out to do it and clean it up and tells me that a part of the muscle has been torn and he has had to stitch that as well as cut the leg horizontally so he could pul it together. Now its wait and see to see how it heals. Absolutely gutted for the owners and the dog but hoping things will work out.
He seems well in himself today but the cut looks nasty and he will definitely be confined to the lead for the next 14 days!
Update on Tom. His toe is slowly healing but it is hard when the dog is like a loaded spring! The cut is gradually healing so lets hope!!
Going to Bruce Danns today with Ben and Ted now!
