Greyhound kennels established on the West Coast of NZ. The kennel name comes from the delightful description Helen Clark used when talking about West Coasters in 2000. The open spaces and the beaches were a top place to rear pups up until racing age. Now Based close to Oxford Canterbury on 4 hectares. We now breed and train as well as rear pups. Update.....Latest news
Pups went off to Supreme kennels at Lowcliffe to be broken in and trained by Malcolm Grant. Early reports are encouraging and the pups have also settled in really well.
They were put behind the Drag lure and both chased extremely well, they were nutcases anyway! Then they were taken to on trip to Addington to get used to the vans and the noise of racing. Watched a few trials and apparently liked what they saw because the next weekend they were slipped behind the lure at Chertsey and chased really well.
Hopefully going the right way but no rush with them being only young. They enjoy the kennel life and apparently lick both Malcolm and Lisa when the feed bowls are collected. Think the trainers getting bored of this affection!!!
Will post some pictures and videos of Greyhound racing at Tralee in Ireland soon after our visit to the Nortern Hemesphere.
