Budget Cola next week as normal!

Making the most of our first win and thanks to the TAB!

Feral Helen (Mo) 1st Addington

Had our first winner in NZ as a trainer today when Mo ( Feral Helen) won her heat in 17.94. Not the quickest run but she had to battle across from trap 8. Got a mention in the stewards report for her antics after the line going to the pick up!

Up date!

Took Sam to Elena Saltis the only registered animal Physio in the South Island. Spent over two hours learning a few techniques on treatment and massage for the greyhounds. Sam has a Tendon injury and is being treated accordingly.Today I took him to Shirley vets for an Xray. No chip of the bone so therefore certainly a Tendon injury that will need plenty of treatment and two months minimum off. Hopefully he might make a recovery but he will be walked and let out in a paddock where he can not gallop around!

On the racing front it was great to see Ted (Melman) win today over the 457 in a 25.94. Was good to see him go past on the outside and run on well to win by 3 lengths. Rob must be pleased with him and his training performance!

The 3 others in the kennel all worked well yesterday and put plenty of work in running up and down the gallop. Hoping to nominate Mo for a run this week.

Kennel News

Not  a lot to report on. Couple of the litter had a run this week Ted (Melman) finished 3rd at Manakau on Sunday. He found some trouble at the bend when he looked to be in a challenging position. Zac (Lots of Beersies) found the going tough after missing his break at Southland yesterday and finished last.
Sam is off to see a Greyhound Physio tomorrow to go the low down on his stopper pad injury. Will update the  blog after the visit. The other 3 here were galloped today and are in fine form. Hopefully will be selected soon when nominated.

Not a great few days!

Yeboah (Tom) experienced his first defeat of his career going for 7 straight. Missed his break and found trouble and switched inside to out twice on the run home. Melman (Ted) also missed his break and ran third. Still good to see the litter doing OK.
Feral Coaster (Sam) could well be finished and retired. After working him hard his Stopper pad Tendon has flared up again. Plenty of Ultra sound and a long rest before I make a decision on his future. Gutted and a shame because he was showing great pace on the gallop.
Feral Helen (Mo) has been nominated for Friday so lets hope she gets a start.
